Gabriela Mistral
Canciones de Cuna

Gabriela Mistral was a Chilean poet, educator and diplomat, and the first Latin American writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature (1945). Her poetry centers on themes of motherhood, love, sorrow and social justice, shaped by her teaching work with impoverished rural communities. Her voice remains one of the most cherished in Spanish-language literature.
