ShenCoLAB: A Night at the Conservatory is a new take on Shenandoah Conservatory’s signature ShenCoLAB festival. Traditionally, ShenCoLAB is a week-long initiative where all regular conservatory classes and rehearsals are canceled with the majority of conservatory spaces and resources being turned over to the students, cultivating an environment of unity, engagement and creativity. The week culminates in the Festival of Arts, Ideas & Exploration, a special event featuring projects and productions that emphasize collaboration and interdisciplinary partnerships.
For this year’s edition, ShenCoLAB: A Night at the Conservatory, interdisciplinary groups produced performance projects over a continuous 24-hour period based on randomly drawn creative prompts. Artistic innovation and unpredictable outcomes emerged as actors, dancers, designers and musicians worked together to produce pieces that showcase their passions, skills and creativity.
