Shannon Fowler is a mezzo-soprano originally from Culpeper, Virginia. She is pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice) degree at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia, studying with Dr. Fotina Naumenko. Fowler is a choral music enthusiast and has been a part of multiple choirs, including Shenandoah Conservatory Chorus, Shenandoah Conservatory Choir and the Arts Chorale of Winchester. She has participated in multiple VA-NATS and MARNATS competitions, earning high ranks in both Classical and Musical Theatre categories. Fowler enjoys opera, from the classics to contemporary, and has been featured in multiple productions at Shenandoah Conservatory, such as Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Fairy Chorus), Handel’s Acis and Galatea (Acis) and Juliet Palmer’s Sweat (Union Organizer). When she is not singing, she is working as a house manager at the conservatory’s box office or as a barista at Espresso Bar and Cafe. Fowler is ecstatic to be bringing to life the role of Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel. She hopes you will follow her into the woods and that you bring your sweet tooth!
