Hello, my name is Ella Mckenna Robinson,
From a young age, music has been an essential escape for me, particularly as I navigated the challenges of dyslexia and ADHD. My struggles in the classroom often led teachers to perceive me as uninterested in reading, yet I found solace in music — a unique outlet for expressing my emotions.
My passion truly blossomed with my piano, my favorite possession, which I immersed myself in after school. While I began with lessons, I discovered a profound joy in learning by ear, replicating songs I loved, and enjoying the creative process. In middle school, I joined the choir, where I showcased my vocal talents and connected closely with my music teacher.
Entering high school, I auditioned for the Governor's School of the Arts (GSA) and was thrilled to be accepted into the vocal department. I balanced homeschool in the mornings with GSA in the afternoons, diving deeper into my musical journey. Initially hindered by a fear of performance rooted in previous experiences in sports, a transformative event before my senior year taught me the importance of embracing mistakes and learning from them.
With newfound courage, I performed regularly throughout my years in high school and eagerly prepared for future opportunities. Alongside music, I enjoy drawing illustrations, drawing costume design and nurturing my creativity, which is an integral part of my identity. My journey has instilled in me the value of expression, resilience, and the transformative power of music, and I am excited to share this passion in our current production.
