Karsen is an East coast based costume designer and theatre educator, currently appointed as Assistant Professor of Costume Design at Wake Forest University.   This is Karsen's third summer designing costumes for Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre, and she is over-the-moon to be working with the SSMT family once again.  In addition to Karsen's design endeavors, she also speicalizes in puppetry, dyework, and costume crafts.  Some of Karsen’s other recent professional design credits include The White Chip at Lean Ensemble Theatre, Heroes of the Fourth Turning at The Warehouse Theatre, and Clyde’s at Maryland Ensemble Theatre.
