Sarah McMichen started her journey on the clarinet with the misconception that having played the recorder, the clarinet would be easy. Despite this not being the case, she continued playing the clarinet and has spent the last several years in the harsh winters of Michigan performing for musical theaters and symphonies. She received her master’s degree from Michigan State University as a woodwind specialist, where she studied clarinet, saxophone, flute and bassoon. She can frequently be seen carrying numerous instruments to her next rehearsal at Shenandoah University, where she is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Woodwind Doubling.
