At the age of twelve, Peter Mattson attended a military band concert and dreamed of becoming a professional clarinetist. Currently, Mattson studies under Professor of Clarinet Garrick Zoeter at Shenandoah Conservatory where he performs in the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles. In his first year at Shenandoah, he won the statewide level of the woodwind division of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competition. This up-and-coming clarinetist will graduate in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Music in Performance and plans to directly pursue his master’s degree also at Shenandoah Conservatory.
