Minji Lee
Piano

Minji Lee, native of South Korea, began her piano studies at the age of five. She made her first debut performing Mendelssohn Piano Concerto in G Minor with the National Ukraine Symphony Orchestra when she was eleven.

From a young age, she won prizes in numerous competitions, including Eumyoun Competition and Eumak Chunchu Concours in Korea. Since her arrival in the United States, she received the first prize in the Virginia Music Teachers Association (VMTA) Concerto Competition giving her an opportunity to perform Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto in D Minor with the Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she received an award at the Lennox International Young Artists Competition. Lee was the winner for Music Teacher National Association (MTNA) Southern Division and received the second prize in the national finals. In 2019, she received the second prize at the International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington, D.C. She was also presented in prestigious music festivals including Aspen Music Festival, Honeywell Arts Academy, Asia International Piano Academy and Festival and Eumyoun Music Festival. She had received a full amount of tuition attending Aspen Music Festival.

She is an avid chamber musician continuing her explorations in different settings, such as duo, trio, quartet and more. Also, she continuously works with living composers and frequently play the new music in both solo and chamber settings.

Miss Lee was offered full scholarship by Shenandoah Conservatory during her master's and bachelor's studies, and received a full graduate assistantship studying for a Performance Diploma at Peabody Conservatory. She is currently continuing her education at Shenandoah Conservatory. Her major teachers have been John O’Conor, Boris Slutsky and Hyoung Joon Chang.
