Maggie DeFrees is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Dance as well as her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design & Production (Scenic Design) at Shenandoah University (SU), expected to graduate in May of 2023. She was most recently cast as a soloist in a restaging of Ballet Hispanico's Batucada Fantástica. As a choreographer, DeFrees has presented her work in choreography festivals including the Ascending Choreographers Festival at the Warehouse Theatre, in Edgewood, Maryland. She was selected to commission new work for an upcoming Split Bill with London Epiphany, which is set to premiere on June 25, 2022. She has enjoyed working with Christine West in collaboration with the percussion ensemble to create in a new space and for a new purpose. DeFrees continues to cultivate her passions of dance and production design to further enhance her perception of production value.
