Liaisons: Sondheim Reimagined is a collaborative theatre piece using songs written by Stephen Sondheim to explore the union of seemingly disparate art forms — Baroque music and Top 40 hits, latin dance and gothic opera, golden age musicals and cocktail-bar jazz. With the premiere of new student work, this project poses important questions like “what do 2 bassoons, Taylor Swift, and Into the Woods have in common?” and “What if Follies was set at the discotheque?”
This production uses theatrical lighting.
