Gumaro is from Houston, Texas, where he received received his bachelor's in music education from the University of Houston Moore's School of Music. He has taught middle school band for three years and masterclass/private lessons for over a decade. 

Ensemble and performance experience includes symphony orchestras such as the Cave Run Symphony orchestra, Pasadena Philharmonic, Clear Lake symphony, and Sacred Winds; Cumbia and Tejano Latin bands Los Gavilanes de la Cumbia and Sandy G y los Gavilanes, along with many churches chamber ensembles and regional theater work. 

He currently resides in Kentucky, attending Morehead State University to work towards his master's in trumpet performance.
