Jamie Shegogue is a senior music therapy major at Shenandoah Conservatory from Germantown, Maryland. In her studies, she is currently working with physical therapy students at Shenandoah University (SU) to research the impacts and considerations of interdisciplinary collaboration between physical therapists and music therapists. In addition to her work within the music therapy program, Jamie is very involved within this institution as a First Year Seminar mentor, music theory tutor, orientation leader, conservatory tour guide and president of the Shenandoah Conservatory Student Council. Her efforts at SU have led her to become one of the few students across the country to receive the Presser Foundation’s Undergraduate Scholar Award. Outside of SU, Jamie loves to go on walks in nature, create new recipes to enjoy and hang out with her kitten pals while volunteering at the Winchester SPCA! Jamie is incredibly excited to be continuing her music therapy education next semester with an internship at Johns Hopkins in its Center for Music and Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
