Marita Stryker earned a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Musical Theatre from Oklahoma City University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Pedagogy (Voice) at Shenandoah Conservatory. She is an NCVS-trained Vocologist, certified yoga instructor and movement educator, as well as an AEA performer and musical theatre enthusiast. Stryker is a native Austinite (very rare these days), and has traveled the world performing and teaching.
I am a life-long student, and my journey has brought me as a dancer with visions of being a ballerina, to being a dancer and singer in musical theatre, to practicing and teaching yoga, to studying creative arts therapy and accessible circus, to diving deep into advanced teacher trainings in embodied anatomy and kinesiology, to vocal pedagogy and voice science. It's been a wild and wonderful ride, and it makes me the teacher that I am today.
