Dasia-Marie Mitchell is a junior at Shenandoah University pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice). She has always had a passion for the arts, and as a result, she joined the performing arts program at her previous high school, which led her to her current career path. She is currently the Harambee Gospel Choir's secretary, the Black Student Union's vice president and the assistant director for the upcoming opera Hydrogen Jukebox. She also worked on Tailleferre's The New World of Opera and Alex Groves' Back into the World. Her other interests include playing the piano, painting and reading. Her future plans include establishing a non-profit performing arts organization to assist underrepresented populations in pursuing their passions in the performing arts. Dasia-Marie Mitchell is optimistic about future generations and grateful to those who support her.
