Skylar Matos (she/they) is an artistic mover currently based in San Diego, California. She began dancing at the age of three in Monterey, California, and has trained in a variety of dance styles such as ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, musical theatre, modern, pointe and contemporary. After her family's relocation to Northern Virginia due to her father's employment in the military, she spent most of her time competing at All That & Jazz Dance studio located in Woodbridge, Virginia, but also continued her training at a few different studios in the Virginia area until the age of seventeen. She expanded her discovery of learning and artistry through a variety of intensives where she took classes from artists such as Alex Wong, Twitch, Alison Holker, and other artists from the television show So You Think You Can Dance. Skylar is currently attending Shenandoah University and pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, where she has participated in works choreographed by Daniel Padierna, Danielle Sten-Guillermo, Charles Maybee and Lauren Carnesi Daniels. Most recently she attended the BARE Dance Company summer workshop (Lake Forest, California) where she worked with company director Mike Esperanza and guest artist Leann Alduenda on a dance film that will be released at a later date.
