Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Emanuel Singletary strives for excellence in performance and portraying human emotion through song and theater. He has had a remarkable performance career being in shows in the Bergen County area throughout high school and continuing into college. Some of his roles include The Cowardly Lion (The Wizard of Oz), The Defendant (Trial by Jury), Cornelius Hackl (Hello, Dolly!), Ensemble (Hydrogen Jukebox) and Everywhere (Back into the World), to name a few. He is excited to be performing on the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theater stage once again under the direction of Ella Marchment and looks forward to working with her throughout his college career. He has performed the National Anthem for the New Jersey Representative Josh Gottheimer and has participated in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) districts competition and placed first in his category. Emanuel is also the recipient of the title of Mr. Shenandoah 2022 due to winning the male beauty pageant held at Shenandoah University. His hope is to accomplish combining opera and modern film so that the world embraces opera in a new light. Emanuel Singletary is currently an undergraduate student at Shenandoah University pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Performance (Voice).
