I See You was conceived as a reflection of my reactions to my travels throughout Japan over the years. I always love the geography, organization, food, landscapes, high tech transit, etc. One thing that I particularly loved is how during the business week, everyone is very systematic, punctual and neatly dressed in business attire at all times during the average five-day week. I noticed that on Fridays after the business day ended, many people would let loose and really celebrate the end of the business week with opposite energy. I saw the same people generally, now having Saki and letting the good times roll! I See You is my way of being a voyeur, loving these people and was inspired to create a dance that speaks with the costumes saying organization, business and professionalism in contrast of movement that is funky, fun, loose and a little chaotic to create a fun time for the dancers and audience! Such good memories and I would always say, “Ok, I See You!”
