Dear family and friends,
Thank you for attending our 2024 Spring Dance Concert, Dancin' Out. Once again, our wonderful team of faculty, production designers, and performers have created a captivating program of dance for you this evening. With works by Tiffanie Carson, Lindsay Browning, Erica Helm and Daniel Padierna, tonight's concert is a robust showcase of thoughtful and entertaining works sure to please everyone in the house.
As the Dance Division celebrates forty years of educating and training students, we are happy to welcome alumni from over the years to this weekend's dance alumni reunion events. It is amazing to hear about the diverse pathways our alums have charged into, and I, and the rest of the faculty, are excited to welcome them back "home" to celebrate with us the past forty years of dance degrees.
Dance is a universal form of expression that strives to communicate; be it to form community, worship, philosophize, entertain, share histories, express emotions or give visualizations on aspirations, struggles and triumphs. In all cases, there is a sharing of information that happens when the performing body moves and is viewed by others; and that identification of meaning is based on many factors that the viewer, you, bring to the “performance.”
I hope you enjoy tonight's performance and I invite you to become a Friend of the Conservatory to help support this and future dance initiatives that provide current and impactful experiences for our students.
