Jr. has received numerous awards and honors for his exceptional artistry in his native Guatemala, as well as in Cuba, Mexico and the United States. These achievements include winning the LYNN Concerto Competition in 2022 (U.S.A.), earning a special prize for the Best Performance of a required Mexican composition at the José Jacinto Cuevas Yamaha International Piano Competition in 2021 (Mexico), securing third prize at the Concurso Internacional De Piano Musicalia in 2019 (Cuba), and clinching first prize in category B in 2008 and second prize in category C in 2009 at the Concurso Nacional de Piano Juan de Dios Montenegro (Guatemala).

Mr. Medina has recently completed a Professional Performance Certificate program at the Lynn University Conservatory of Music, under the guidance of Dr. Roberta Rust. Currently, he is pursuing a master's degree in piano performance under the tutelage of John O'Conor at Shenandoah Conservatory.
