Daryl Runswick is a versatile composer and performer. He initially explored pop and jazz music and was educated at Ronnie Scott’s Club and Cambridge University. His career has spanned various roles, including improvising musician, singer with Electric Phoenix, record producer, educator and film/TV composer. Notably, he was the head of composition at Trinity College of Music, London, for a decade. Over time, he transitioned from jazz and pop to contemporary concert pieces and opera, merging his diverse talents. His one-man show, Daryl Runswick in Droves, exemplifies this fusion, featuring singing, rapping, keyboard, live electronics and innovative bass guitars. His influence ranges from classical to popular music, and he has authored a respected textbook on arranging.
