Sam Barthel is an actor and musician from the Washington, D.C., area, pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting and minor in Film Studies here at Shenandoah. Some recent roles include Christopher Boone in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew. He has done a Scrooged monologue for the 2021 Holiday Gala and a performance as Everybody for the 2022 Conservatory Convocation. He has won the National Capital Area Cappie award for Best Comic Actor in 2019 and been recognized at the Virginia Theatre Festival, is president of the Shut Up! It's Shakespeare theatre troupe, and is involved in ODK, PMA, APO, Shenananigans sketch comedy, and The Loaf improv troupe. He is an Eagle Scout and loves building fires.
