Joey Speranzo ’17 (Bachelor of Music in Music Education), who went on to earn a Master of Music in 2019 and Artist Diploma in 2020 from the University of Miami, studied saxophone performance with Dr. Timothy Roberts and Prof. Dale Underwood, respectively. At both institutions, he performed regularly with their wind ensembles, saxophone quartets and saxophone ensembles while also furthering his skills as a music educator and conductor. As a performer, Speranzo has played internationally on several occasions and was a winner of the Frost Orchestra Concerto Competition in Miami, Florida. He is also enthusiastic about arranging works for saxophone ensembles, which have been premiered by accomplished collegiate groups and performed worldwide. Speranzo was commissioned as an aviator in the United States Air Force in 2022 and currently lives in Pensacola, Florida.
