Maximiliano Fernández Escalona (he/him) is a sophomore music education major studying voice under Dr. Byron Jones. Previously, he has played Bert in Mary Poppins and performed the role as a Top 10 Actor for the Triangle Rising Star Awards (a feeder program to the Jimmy Awards). He has also been featured as a Chorus Singer for Celebrate Trans Theatre’s production of A Place for Us under the direction of Madise Flynn. Max is also a composer, and will be showcasing a selection from his song cycle Work in Progress in Richmond later this month.
