Mathuin Elias Smith is a twenty-one-year-old oboist from Fairfax, Virginia. He began studying music at age seven, and picked up the oboe at age ten. Since then, he has gone on to become a regularly working woodwindist in Washington, D.C.’s vibrant live music scene, and maintains an active performance schedule alongside his studies. In addition to his oboe work, Smith is often seen performing on the saxophone and EWI (electronic wind instrument) in various jazz groups, and his debut album, Clockwise, is currently available on all streaming platforms.
