Sofia Stankiewicz is a junior voice performance major from Reading, Pennsylvania. She is in the studio of Dr. Fotina Naumenko and has been studying classical voice for ten years. Recent Opera credits include Mustardseed in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Shenandoah Conservatory), Emmie in Albert Herring (Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia), and Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte (Harrower Opera Workshop in Atlanta, Georgia).

She has received many awards and scholarships throughout the beginning stages of her career both in Pennsylvania and in the Shenandoah community. Stankiewicz is a staff singer and section leader at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, Virginia, and soprano section leader and soloist in the Arts Chorale of Winchester. Currently, she is preparing for her junior recital and getting ready to perform Mozart’s Coronation Mass in Salzburg, Austria, this June, for which she will be the soprano soloist.

She would like to thank her friends at Shenandoah University and around the country for their constant encouragement in all her endeavors, and most importantly her parents, family and boyfriend Jonathan, for their love and support in everything she pursues.
