Dr. Bora Lee is a sought after pianist in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, invited as a featured artist from Washington Performing Arts Society, Arts Club of Washington, S&R Foundation Artist Concert Series, Sumner Concert Series, Embassy of Poland, and Embassy of Korea. She has also appeared at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Orford Arts Centre in Québec, Baroque Recital Hall in Prague among others.
Among her many honors are first prize in the International Concert Artist Competition, the OMTA Piano Competition, and the Korean National Music Competition, as well as prizes from University of Cincinnati Concerto Competition, the Samick Piano Competition and the Korean Piano Society Competition. She also appeared as a soloist with Seoul National Symphony Orchestra, Cantate Chamber Orchestra, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Bora Lee had been a faculty member at University of Cincinnati Preparatory School in Ohio, Radford University, Governor’s School in Virginia, and Washington Conservatory of Music. She is also an experienced collaborative pianist, currently working as a staff collaborative pianist/coach at the Aspen Music Festival and School, and a staff collaborative pianist at the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) Youth Fellowship Program at the Kennedy Center.
Dr. Lee earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree and Master of Music degree in piano performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), and her Bachelor of Music degree in piano from Yonsei University in Korea.
