Carolyn trained at Santa Clara University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from the University of Connecticut. She has performed, taught, and directed across the United States, England, and Canada. Locally, she has performed in Shenandoah Summer Music Theatre’s Mamma Mia, The Music Man, Les Misérables, Shrek and Legally Blonde. Regionally, she has worked with companies such as TheatreWorks (CA), Center REP, Sierra Repertory Theatre, Centenary Stage Company, San Jose Stage Company, and The Rosemary Branch in London. Recent directing credits at Shenandoah University include People, Places and Things, The Wolves, Nora: A Doll’s House, Parade, The Three Musketeers and Peter and the Starcatcher. Carolyn serves as Shenandoah Conservatory’s Associate Dean for Curriculum and Assessment and Professor of Theatre.
