A preferred libation of Falstaff and his cronies in Shakespeare's plays, "Sack" refers to sherry, the popular fortified wine from southern Spain. "Dry Sack" has been for years, and still is, a popular brand of sherry sold in a bottle wrapped in a small burlap sack.
