John Ray grew up in Alexandria, VA where at the age of 5, he thought he would become a SOCCER STAR. It wasn't until his very first game when he ended up being the only child on the field to actively be running away from the ball that he realized there was another path out there for him.
After having the chance to see his very first Broadway show…WICKED, he was absolutely hooked on the art of storytelling! The ability to connect and share unique moments with people has been the driving force in his innate need to perform.
Some of his all-time favorite credits include ORDINARY DAYS, A CHORUS LINE, PIPPIN, SWEET CHARITY, and 42ND STREET. In addition, he has always been extremely passionate about choreography and creating new movement. He was fortunate enough to be the Associate Choreographer for PIPPIN and HAIR.
When you can’t find him in the dance studio choreographing to the latest Pop Hit he is probably searching for some obscure candy, informing his friends of the most recent pop culture event, or dissecting the next crazy Taylor Swift theory. He can not wait to take NYC by storm one candy shop at a time.
