Ben Shaver (he/him/his) is an award-winning music director, singer, vocal coach, and pianist currently based in the DMV area. He holds a BM in Vocal Performance from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and is pursuing an MM in Conducting: Musical Theatre at the Shenandoah Conservatory (‘25). He has performed on stages in the United States, Italy, Austria, and Georgia, most notably Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Marin Alsop and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Since 2015, Ben has been the Director of Music at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Potomac, MD. From 2017-2022, Ben was the Director of Music and Theatre at St. Timothy’s School in Stevenson, MD. During the 2022-2023 academic year, Ben was an adjunct faculty at the University of Mary Washington. He continues to study voice with Francesca Mondonaro in NYC and to study vocal pedagogy through the Somatic Voicework™ the Lovetri Method, and workshops with David Jones, Dr. David Meyer, and Matt Edwards. Ben is passionate about new works and has premiered numerous operas, song cycles, and original pop and musical theatre songs as a singer, pianist, and music director. He is a co-writer of To Whom It May Concern, a musical about the life of Ryan White, with Joe Barros (NYTheatre Barn) and Ryan Haase (StillPointe Theatre) and Mixed Media by Mika Kauffman.
