The United States Navy Band Saxophone Quartet features Senior Chief Musician Jonathan Yanik and Chief Musicians David Babich, Dana Booher and Patrick Martin. The group has performed at numerous Navy Band International Saxophone Symposiums as well as The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic. In addition, the quartet performs for the Navy’s highest ranking dignitaries, frequently gives public recitals in the Washington, D.C., area and engages with children at local schools as part of the Navy Band’s Music in the Schools educational outreach program. Members of the quartet have won prizes in several international and national competitions, and have performed with La Garde Républicaine (Paris), the National Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Opera, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, National Philharmonic and Pittsburgh Opera. Individually, quartet members have earned degrees while studying with Frederick Hemke, Otis Murphy, John Sampen and Donald Sinta. The quartet plays music in many different styles, ranging from standard concert saxophone quartet literature to contemporary and jazz, tailoring the musical selections to a wide range of audiences.
