Hailed by Sir Simon Rattle as “one of the greatest musicians England has produced,” Imogen Cooper is celebrated for her exquisite interpretations of classical and romantic repertoire. Her playing is celebrated for its lyrical beauty, profound musical insight and technical precision. She is especially admired for her performances of works by composers such as Schubert, Beethoven and Mozart. Throughout her distinguished career, Cooper has performed with leading orchestras and at major concert halls worldwide, including performances with the New York Philharmonic, Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw, and all major British orchestras. A dedicated teacher and mentor, she founded the Imogen Cooper Music Trust in 2015 to support young artists; and has also served as a Humanitas Visiting Professor at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Cooper has been honored with numerous awards for her contributions to music, including the Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
