Taiwanese marimba player, Lin Chin Cheng is famous worldwide for possessing a talent of uncommon ability and as an exceptionally gifted artist. Indeed, he has received numerous awards and enthusiastic critics for his shows and records as well as for his original and insightful interpretations of the marimba repertoire.
Born in 1984 in Taipei, Chin Cheng Lin is known as the first marimba student at the famous Antwerp Royal Conservatory. He presented marimba concerts in over twenty-five countries. Today, Chin Cheng Lin is a teacher at the Louvain University of Arts, at the Antwerp Royal Conservatory, the High School of Arts MUDA in Ghent and the Bornem Municipal Academy.
As a young composer, Lin Chin Cheng wrote over fifty pieces for marimba such as Fly, Wind, April Sky, and Kaleidoscope. Currently, Chin Cheng composed for many internationally renowned soloists: a violin concerto for Yulia Rubina, the second concerto for marimba Mi-Kim Youne the third concerto marimba with six mallets Pei- Ching Wu, the second marimba concertino for Naoko Takada & LA, marimba third concertino forYi-Chun Chen and Taipei Chinese Orchestra, a piece of percussion duo for Nuno Aroso. Besides, he frequently worked with composers to create new music for himself, such as Michael McBride, John Thrower, Guillo Espel, Rich O’Meara , Emmanuel Séjourné and Paul Lansky .
