Serenity Flores is a mezzo-soprano originally from Springfield, Virginia. She is currently in her senior year pursuing her Bachelor of Music degree at Shenandoah Conservatory, studying with Dr. Fotina Naumenko. Operatic appearances at Shenandoah include portraying Milin in Shostakovich’s Moscow, Cheryomushki, Amy Winehouse in an original production called Caged Birds, Moth in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hannah Wiener in Philip Glass’s Hydrogen Jukebox. Currently, she is a part of the chorus for Handel’s Acis and Galatea. Previously, she portrayed Mother Marie in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites. In addition to singing, Serenity is a skilled harpist and frequently performs with Shenandoah Conservatory’s Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
