“Composed for bassoonist, Christian Schilling, during a remarkable one-week-online class taught by composer, Jenni Brandon, during the COVID-19 quarantine, ‘Serenade’ flowed from my ‘pen’ (aka my brain, keyboard, and computer) fairly quickly and easily, something that (for me) doesn’t happen very often! I wanted to compose a piece that was lyrical yet interesting for both the performer and the audience.”
