BRIAN J. SMITH (Arnold) can next be seen in the psychological thriller HAZE, which made its premiere at NewFest. Before that, Brian starred opposite Kate Mara in the Hulu limited series CLASS OF ‘09, and in the CBC limited series ESSEX COUNTY.
Brian can also be seen in the 2021 Warner Bros. feature film, MATRIX 4, alongside Keanu Reeves. He appeared in USA Network's TREADSTONE, and in BBC's WORLD ON FIRE. Prior to that, he worked on the CBS pilot LA CONFIDENTIAL alongside Walton Goggins, and directed by Michael Dinner. Brian is perhaps best known for his role as ‘Will Gorski’ in the Wachowski's hit Netflix series, SENSE8.
In 2013, Brian starred in THE GLASS MENAGERIE on Broadway, earning him a Drama Desk Nomination as well as a Tony Award Nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play. He reprised the role on the West End, earning an Olivier award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting role. He was a series regular on the Syfy series, STARGATE UNIVERSE, which ran for two seasons. Brian also had a recurring role on GOSSIP GIRL, in addition to his appearances on THE GOOD WIFE and QUANTICO. Brian starred in the Independent film THE PASSING SEASON, which premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival last August. He also starred in the Canadian film 22 CHASER.
In addition to his acting, Brian made his directorial debut with the 2024 documentary A HOUSE IS NOT A DISCO. Shot over two seasons on Fire Island, the film shows the beauty and magic of the “homo-normative” enclave outside of New York City. Since its premiere at South By Southwest, A HOUSE IS NOT A DISCO has played in over 15 festivals, both in America and internationally.
