Jake Nice
Director (Suffocation Theory & Bright Boys)

Jake Nice produced and directed the world premiere of Slide By (AT&T Performing Arts Center) and the regional premiere of We're Gonna Die, which toured to North Texas venues including AT&T PAC, Second Thought Theatre, Amphibian Stage Productions, The Wild Detectives, and FW Black House. Jake's directing credits include Everybody (Stage West) and Warm Soda, which played at the United Solo Theatre Festival in NYC. Jake created the sound design for the world premiere of Self-Injurious Behavior, which premiered in Dallas and received productions in Los Angeles and Off-Broadway. Jake composed original music for As You Like It (Shakespeare Dallas), Midas (PrismCo), Frosty: Songs of Redemption (House Party Theatre), The Iphigenia Project (Southern Methodist University), and the award-winning short film Red City. He performs, writes, and records original music as a solo artist and with Caftan, whose debut EP will be released in 2021. Jake is honored to have directed both Suffocation Theory and Bright Boys for the 2021 "Whither Goest Thou, America" festival at Undermain Theatre, where he serves as Producing Artistic Associate.
