Frida Espinosa-Müller
Actor (Second Hand Conversations with Irene)

Frida Espinosa-Müller is a Mestiza Mexicana artist. She holds her BFA in Dramatic Literature and Theatre from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (U.N.A.M.), and studied physical theatre at the Diplomado Teatro del Cuerpo (DTdC) in Mexico City. Frida has been part of Cara Mía Theatre's Resident Ensemble since 2005 where she has served as an actress, designer, director, and teaching artist.  She teaches theatre, puppetry, and visual arts.

Frida has written and directed several children’s plays that are part of Cara Mia Theatre’s educational touring repertory centering Mexicana, Mexico-U.S., and  indigenous cultures; as well as the experience of Latinos in the U.S. Her most recent play, URSULA or let yourself go with the wind is written from the child's perspective of the Zero Tolerance Policy and family separation. Frida wrote, directed, designed, and performed URSULA.

Frida’s designs include puppetry, costume and masks for Cara Mía Theatre’s productions The Magic Rainforest, TEOTL: The Sand Show, Yana Wana’s Legend of the Bluebonnet (a co-production with the Dallas Children's Theatre), props for Crystal City 1969, Nuestra Pastorela, Gog and Magog, and Tina’s Journey. Some of her favorite roles include Trinculo in Espejos/ MirrorsLa Niña in Nuestra Pastorela, the Nurse in Romeo y Julieta, the title role in Yerma, the Mother in Blood Wedding, Rosa in Lydia, Alicia in The Dreamers: A Bloodline, Abue in Deferred Action, Gog in Gog and Magog, Tina in Tina’s Journey, Ultima in Bless me Ultima and Nadia in URSULA or let yourself go with the wind.
