Graduated from Vaganova Academy of Ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms. Karpova began her career as a performing artist under direction and training of the world famous Russian Ballerina Alla Osipenko.

Anna started to perform in 1990 with Leningrad Jacobson Dance Company in all the leading roles in the repertoire of the world-renowned choreographer Leonid Jacobson.

Ms. Karpova joined the Kirov Ballet (Mariinski Opera and Ballet Theatre) in 1992. She has danced in almost all of the ballets from the traditional classical repertoire.
During her intensive performing career Anna had a unique opportunity to work with such famous Ballet Masters and Choreographers as Irina Jacobson, Oleg Vinogradov, Dmitri Briantsev and Igor Belsky. She toured with the Kirov Ballet throughout Europe and North and South America. In 1996 Anna Karpova was invited to perform with Guangzhou Ballet, the second largest ballet company in China.
In 1998 she continued her dance career with Ballet Jorgen, Canada.
Anna has been a guest teacher at many dance schools in Canada and the United States and is a Co-founder of Karpov Ballet Academy in Toronto, Canada where she is a permanent Mentor and Ballet instructor since 2011 to this day.
