A recipient of the 2025 Governor’s Award in the Arts, Lakshmi Sriraman is a multidisciplinary artist, performer, and educator whose work bridges Bharatanatyam, South Indian folk traditions, and contemporary inquiry. Rooted in lineage while responsive to the present, her choreographic practice explores rhythm, ritual, and embodied storytelling. Her work has been presented across the United States, India, and internationally. Her teaching and performance foreground rigor, cultural context, and embodied intelligence.
