“Rochut: Legato and Beyond”

This presentation will dissect multiple etudes and bridge the gap between classroom music theory and on-stage performance. A musical reconstruction of the etudes will be achieved by applying the note-grouping concepts of Marcel Tabuteau and David McGill’s book “Sound in Motion”. Simple chord progressions will be notated to help guide the etude’s melody and the student's ear. A copy of these progressions will be available at the end of the presentation to attendees.
