Courtney Porter
Third Lady

Courtney Porter hails from Uniondale, New York. Courtney is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kentucky under the tutelage of Dr. Everett McCorvey. Since her arrival in Lexington, Courtney has collaborated with the Lexington Philharmonic as a soloist in their first live performance of the 2021-2022 season, “Sorrow, Strength, and Love.” This performance highlighted works from Lexington-born composer, Julia Perry, and featured Courtney in Perry’s most notable work, Stabat Mater. Earlier this year, she performed with the Kentucky Opera in their workshop of Chandler Carter’s This Little Light of Mine as Young Fannie Lou Hammer. In 2020, Courtney had the unique opportunity to collaborate with the Cincinnati Pops Conductor, John Morris Russell, on a recording of William Marion Cook's In Dahomey. The immense support from the city of Lexington Metropolitan area continues to inspire and nurture Courtney’s musical aspirations. Courtney Porter is excited to continue offering thoughtful presentations of her voice to her community at large.
