Susie Thiel, is an Associate Professor, choreographer, performer, educator, and Director of Dance at UK. She performed in a variety of venues in New York City before receiving her MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan. Susie's research and creative activity centers on topics, themes and stories related to women’s issues and messages using a combined biographical and autobiographical approach. Susie received the University of Kentucky’s 2016 Provost’s Outstanding Teaching Award, was a 2022 Faculty Nominee for the Sarah Bennet Holmes Award and serves on the National Board for the American College Dance Association Conference.
