Grace Ashley, soprano, is a native of Falkville, Alabama. She received two Bachelor degrees in Vocal/Choral Music and Choral Education from the University of North Alabama. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She is is currently a DMA Candidate in Vocal Performance at the University of Kentucky and is studying with Dr. Everette McCorvey. For four years, she taught private voice and piano along with other various music courses at The University of North Alabama and Wallace State Community College. Ms. Ashley is an emerging young performer in Alabama, North Carolina, Georgia as well as various local churches and small venues in the Shoals area. Her recent roles include: Miss Grose in Turn of the Screw, Susannah in Susannah, St. Teresa I in Four Saints in Three Acts, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Mother Jeanne in Dialogues of the Carmelites, Aunt March in Little Women the musical, the Witch in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel and Adult Adelaide in Ricky Ian Gordon’s opera, The House without a Christmas Tree. She is currently the soprano choral scholar at Hunter Presbyterian Church in Lexington.
