Jonathan McIntyre

Jonathan McIntyre is a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky within the Musicology/Ethnomusicology program. He is originally from Bellevue, KY and received a bachelor’s in music with a double major in Composition and Classical Saxophone Performance and a minor in Pre-Law from Northern Kentucky University. Jonathan has been involved in interdisciplinary research with the Neurology department at the University of Kentucky studying the “Mozart Effect” and the brain’s response to musical stimulus in recovering stroke patients. Jonathan’s research interests include the Classical Saxophone in the Parisian Opera, Friedrich Nietzsche’s life as a composer, and Copyright Law/Intellectual property. Jonathan has worked as a teaching assistant in both Music Theory and Musicology.
