Clinton Garrison is currently finishing his Masters at the University of Kentucky where he has been heavily involved in the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre (UKOT) program since his arrival. He has performed in past productions such as La Bohéme and Die Zauberflöte as an ensemble member as well as UKOT’s 2023 Spring Gala where he performed scenes from Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri as Taddeo as well as in the opera theatre’s chamber opera The Medium as Mr. Gobineau. He is currently preparing for his role debut as Masetto in UKOT’s 2024 spring production of Don Giovanni. He has also done scenes from Die Fledermaus as Gabriel von Eisenstein. During the summer of 2023, Clinton participated in Festival Napa Valley as a fellow with the Manetti Shrem Opera Program where he did scenes from Le Nozze Di Figaro and Cosi Fan Tutte where he sang the roles of Count Almaviva and Don Alfonso as well as being one of the selected soloists for the west coast premier of Lera Auerbach’s Symphony No. 6 Vessels of Light. Wrapping up his time at Festival Napa Valley, he was seen in the festival’s production of Don Pasquale as the Notary where he performed alongside American baritone Lucas Meachem. Later that summer he participated in the Savannah Voice Festival as a study grant artist where he performed the role of the Spirit in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. In 2020 Clinton was one of 10 singers selected to be a part of LA Opera’s inaugural HBCU Opera Career Comprehensive created and lead by American tenor Russell Thomas.
