World Premiere - 2012 for Luna Negra Dance Theater

It has been nineteen years since I presented my choreography on stage for the very first time. Exposed in front of the audience with care, trust and hope as much as fear and insecurity. Just like the parent of a new born baby. Since then my ‘baby’ has achieved the age of an adult - to be exact, one year more than that. It has become a part of my daily life in which I’ve been lucky enough to be able to do what I love the most: to bring it to the stage over again and again.

This performance is a little birthday party of my work as a choreographer and I have the opportunity to thank all the people and experiences that have been a significant inspiration, help and support to me. I wouldn’t be celebrating today without my mom; the directors, teachers, choreographers, friends, dancers, people who love me, who I love, people who hurt me, people who I pass on the street and observe in the subway; politics, Alicante, San Fulgencio, washing machines, cinnamon rolls, melon, lemonade, Barcelona, karate, flowers, television, Europe, Chicago, animals, apfel schorle, designers, music, books, theater, architecture, water, mcgridles...
