Lyric coloratura soprano Carter Tholl is praised for her agile voice and clear tone, and performs a wide variety of repertoire from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Originally from Tempe, Arizona, she is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Voice Performance, and Wichita State University, where she received a Master of Music in Opera Performance. In the Wichita area, she has performed as a soloist with Music Theatre Wichita, the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, the Wichita Chamber Chorale, the Wichita Choral Society, Opera Kansas, Wichita Grand Opera, Roxy’s Downtown, and the Crown Uptown Theatre. Internationally, she performed in the Utrecht Early Music Festival in The Netherlands in 2017, and was the winner of the 2019 St. Andrews International Aria Competition in New Brunswick, Canada. She performed the role of Sally Brown in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown with Vienna's English Theatre in Vienna, Austria in 2013-2014. 

Other favorite roles include: Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Gaby (Mirette), The Plaintiff (Trial by Jury), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), L'amour (Cadmus et Hermione) and die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte). When not performing, Ms. Tholl is the Manager of Marketing and Communications for the Wichita Symphony. She lives in Wichita, KS with her husband, Mike Mays, who is the choir teacher at Wichita Northwest High School, and their dog Juniper.
