Cody Dry has recently returned to his native Dallas from working in NYC as a music director, accompanist, and vocal coach. There he worked with the Broadway production of Book of Mormon as rehearsal accompanist and keyboard sub. He music directed Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley (Next to Normal, Side Show) in an Off-Broadway production of Maltby and Shire’s Baby. Cody also taught alongside Jenn Gambatese (Mrs. Doubtfire, All Shook Up, Tarzan) for the organization The Broadway Star Project, a group that keeps young adult actors performing. With that organization he music directed their 2019 holiday album and arranged and directed their performance with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. As adjunct faculty at the Hartt School (University of Hartford), he served as vocal coach, accompanist, and music director. He has also music directed and accompanied cabarets at renowned NYC venues Feinstein’s 54 Below and Green Room 42. Locally Cody has worked with companies such as Theatre Three, Dallas Theatre Center, Water Tower Theatre, and Circle Theatre. His upcoming projects include music supervision/conducting for Broadway Dallas’ High School MT Awards and music directing Cruel Intentions with Stage West/Uptown Players. Cody currently teaches private voice, serves as collaborative pianist at The Greenhill School and UT Arlington, and is music director at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church. He holds a music degree from the University of North Texas.
