grew up performing in the Akron/Cleveland area. She began her professional career working at Porthouse Theatre and then traveled to Florida, where she was an Equity singer/dancer at Walt Disney World for a number of years. At Disney, she was contracted in several shows including The Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Disney’s Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party. Marissa directed and choreographed Weathervane’s Hairspray in 2017 and Weathervane’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame in 2018. Other choreography credits include Weathervane Playhouse’s Mama Mia!, School of Rock, Bye Bye Birdie, Willy Wonka, A Christmas Carol (2015), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2014, 2015, 2016, 2019), and Oklahoma! as well as Ohio University’s Mary Poppins, Akron School for the Art’s productions of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and Ghost the Musical, Akron Civic Theatre/All-City Musical’s Beauty and the Beast, Bye Bye Birdie and Shrek the Musical. Marissa is currently playing her most important role yet ― “mama” to Sebastian and “wifey” to her husband Jason who, she owes everything to. Marissa is honored to direct this Akron tradition of Joseph. Marissa was the first narrator in Weathervane’s Joseph 21 years ago and repeated her performance several years after. Since then, Joseph has become bigger and better every year. She hopes this year's production of Jwill add a bit of magic to your holiday season. Marissa is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
